I waited until Asher closed
the door. I began to hear the water running and long to be with him. I
stood in front of this Willie person with the bed between us.
"When did he arrive?"
"Today." Great, I sighed.
"Why is he staying in St. Louis?"
"I da not know, all the boss told me
is to drive him to Burnt Offerings and do whatever he tell me?"
"Where is he staying?"
"HHHere," he stuttered. I flew over
the bed, seizing his neck, and hoisting him up in the air.
"You brought him here, what room?" I
screamed at him. He started clawing at my hand holding his neck and even
started to turn blue.
"Room 865," he said as he gasped for
air. Suddenly my arm gave out, my strength hadn't returned fully. I dropped
him on the floor and hold on to my arm.
"What is the message?" He told me just
that Raven brought some extra clothes with some letters from the band and
my guitar.
"That's it? Why couldn't you just told
Asher this? Oh nevermind, just get out." I slammed the door behind him
and locked it.
My arm was still hurting, I assumed
that I was strong enough to do it, but I guess I wasn't. Damn, I really
hate being weak, especially now with Raven is in town.
I knocked on the bathroom door, "May
I come in?"
"Oui [Yes]." He was sitting in a large
ivory tub filled with soapy water. He sat up, water just slided off of
his body, and he held out his arms out. He untied my robe and carefully
pulled out the sleeves out of my arms. He started massaging my sore arm
once I was sitting beside him.
"I guess I wasn't strong enough to handle
him." Soon my arm was feeling better and I turned around to face him. I
asked him to turn around him and just started to rub his back. I told him
about Raven staying here and such. He didn't answered me, I couldn't blamed
him, like what he is supposed to say. I'm sorry, or don't worry, let me
handle this. I then allowed him to lean on me, I kissed on of his scars
on his forehead.
"I have been thinking of what you had
said, about moving back to your apartment."
"Mon oiseau de chanson [My songbird],
do not move because of Raven."
I held my left hand up to his lips,
"I admitted, a small part of me is because of him. I can't even handle
that twit Willie and what is he? Three, five years being a vampire. Raven
is 200 years old and if I get into a fight with him, right now, I will
lose. I have to wait for my strength to return? But I also know that you
took me here to heal both physically and emotionally. I also realized that
you wanted to explained your relationship to Jean-Claude, so I won't stake
him in his coffin." He nodded yes.
"I still haven't forgiven him, but I
will get along with him, for your sake. So if the offer still open, I would
like to accept. But do you mind if we get something to eat before we do.
You realized that we never actually ate yesterday."
He pulled me in closer, "We will move
and get something to eat, but later." He kissed me as he laid me against
the tub wall.
